Pan-fried Batang Fish

I have tried cooking this dish last year and was not successful, the fish was bland and oily. I decided to try again with a generous dose of salt, tumeric powder, cornflour and well, patence. Wow, what a great difference! It takes lesser time too.


Ingredients

  • 1 piece Batang(mackerel) Fish Steak
  • 1/2 tsp tumeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil

Directions

  1. Rinse and pat-dry the fish. Season the fish with salt and tumeric powder. Set aside in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan. When the oil is hot enough, lower the fire and slide the fish in. Pan-fry the fish over medium heat till golden brown, for about 4 minutes. Flip over the fish and continue to cook for another 4 minutes or till golden brown.
  3. Transfer the fish onto a serving plate.
