Tip03-Change Quantity of Recipe

Basic recipe is 20-cm x 7.5-cm (8-inch x 3-inch) Round Cake

¼ 10cm (4in) 7.5cm (3in) 10cm (4in)
1/3 12.5cm(5in) 10cm (4in)
½ 15cm (6in) 12.5cm (5in) 12.5cm (5in)

Loaf Tin
2 lb (900g) loaf tin : 21cm x 11cm wide x 7cm (8 x 4 x 3 inches)
1 lb (450g) loaf tin : 16cm x 11cm wide x 7cm (6 x 4 x 3 inches)
– reduce about 10 minutes from 2lb to 1lb if the height of tin is the same
– reduce half if the height is smaller

– each 8″ pan will hold approximately 3 cups of batter
– never fill a cake tin more than 2/3 full. normally cake will rise about half from their original volume, if unsure, always fill up to half the cake tin
– for pan substitutions, always keep the same batter depth as in the original recipe so that you do not have to make any drastic changes in baking times and temperatures.
