Pan-fry Batang Fish

Author: 我的温馨厨房

I could blame it on my mobile that the dish looks plain and unappetising, but the thing is, I think this recipe that I found in a cookbook is really a “meh!”. No salt and cooking only 7 minutes each side will not produce a tasty nor golden brown fish.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece Batang(mackerel) Fish Steak
  • 1 slice Ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornflour, seasoned with salt
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil

Directions

  1. Rinse and pat-dry Mackerel steak. Lightly coat the fish with cornflour.
  2. Preheat frying pan with 2 tablespoons of oil, add in ginger and saute low heat before sliding in the fish.
  3. Pan-fry the fish over medium heat till golden brown, for about 5-7 minutes. Flip over the fish and continue to cook till golden brown.
  4. Transfer the fish onto a serving plate.
