Braised Chicken with Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 250g mid-joint wings
  • 100g fresh shitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 slices old ginger
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce

Directions

  1. In a hot frying pan, place the chicken with skin side down. Fry till fragrant and golden brown. Flip the wings and let them cook for another 2 minutes.
  2. In the same pan, add in the onion, ginger and garlic and let it cook till fragrant. Add in shitake mushroom. Let it cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add in the oyster sauce, light and dark soy sauce. Stir until all the chicken meat are coated with the sauce and let it cook for another 2 minutes. Add water to cover the wings half-way, cover the lid. Let it simmer for at least 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and let it cook for another 30 seconds to reduce the gravy. Serve hot.
